John,

This is a very nice image. The background is great. I would like to see the bird's head raised just a bit to get a more defined catchlight. I would love to have an image like this one in my files. :)

John, nice shot with a beautiful BG. A catchlight would make this pop.

Nice one, John. A little head turn for the catchlight would be wonderful but you have a nice image here....good detail and a clean BG.

The habitat (all in the same plane as the bird) and the water are lovely. It needs a catchlight, though, as has been said. Problem is that the sun is high and right, and with the head turned, no light is reaching the eye. In this case, catching the head turned slightly away from the camera might have put light in the eye.

Very nice image. The inclusion of a catchlight has already been mentioned but very good as it stands.

Not a Red Knot - its a Ruddy Turnstone in winter plumage. A nice shot.

Great shot. The bg is very interesting and the bird is sharp as heck.

The breast of the bird looks like it may be overexposed. That said, the composition is excellent and the clarity is superb. Love the perspective, you must have been crawling in the mud! Congrats!

I love the low angle here. A catchlight would be great but this is pretty nice as is. :)
