I couldn't believe how fast this green heron was. I waited and waited and as soon as I saw him start to move I hit the trigger. He had already caught the fish by the time the shutter fired.
Wakodahatchee, FL.
1Ds, 500mm f/4 IS, 1/250sec, f/14, incident w/o comp, fill flash at -1.7.

I love this different perspective, Wil. I love to watch these guys hunt. I like the feather pattern on the back and that you can still see the eyes clearly.

Nice sense of dynamic action here, Wil. I love the contrast witht he duckweed. They are quick, aren't they. I've watched them through a viewfinder for many hours and know just how quickly they move.
