Just one of the local birds looking for a meal. This was a fairly young bird and reasonably approachable.

Good to see you here on NSN, Laura. Great capture! :) I like the wing position and detailed view. I also like the intense stare of the Hawk. It would be even better if he was looking towards you. I think a little more room on the left and a little less on the right would improve the composition.

Nice shot Laura - he looks pretty intent on catching something! I agree with the comp comments but this is great otherwise.

Welcome to NSN Laura. Nice to see your work. I agree that this would work better with more room on the left for the bird to move into the frame. That said, I think this works very well without the hawk looking at you. It tells a better story this way; instead of a hawk watching you photograph it, it's a hawk appearing to exhibit natural hunting behavior. Well done.

Great flight shot Laura! The head position looks good to me. I agree with the cropping suggestions.

I'm with Wayne. I don't mind the hawk looking away but would prefer more room on the left. Great capture Laura and welcome!

Great shot. I agree with Wayne... The hawks vision and line of motion are aligned to me in a natural way.
