This has been a good year for "approachable" Shovelers. This male will not be in full colors for a few more weeks.

Nice timing and amazed you could freeze this action at 1/250! Looks a touch noisy and maybe over sharpened... maybe its my tired eyes. :D

Ken its nice to see a post from you. Your buffle head wing flap shot from that channel of water under the bridge, where you took pictures with Kim and I, is still engraved on my mind! I too am only getting half a picture.... :(

I'm not sure why only half the image loaded as I tested it after posting last night. I have uploaded it again and it appears fine.

Ken, for some strange reason I see only the top half of the image. Looks great and wish I could see the rest.

OK, download problem fixed. Excellent wing flap and nice colors. I'd add a tad of canvass on the right. pose is perfect. Bravo!!

Very Nice Ken! The download problem appears to be fixed. Once that breast molts to all white he will be a contrast nightmare!

Great Job!

Really nice capture Ken, exposures nice, whites look good. You caught the flap at the right time otherwise I think they'd have been blurred at 1/250s. I agree about adding a bit more room to the right side.
Hopefully these guys will still be approachable when they are in full plumage, my luck is usually with the non-breeding plumage!

Great pose, however I agree with Doug on the noise and sharpening. Still a nice shot.
