White Bearded Manakin - Trinidad

Another from the Trinidad shoot...I just love Manakins. The courtship display they have is unique and intriguing. Though it is often very difficult to spot the female of the species.

Jean,

Not bad, pretty difficult lighting at that spot. While we were there, the lek was vacant until our last day, just managed to catch some action at the last possible hour.

Also while we were having breakfast one morning, a female flew into the dining area and perched on the picture hanging on the wall of the Golden-headed Manakin; I wished I'd had a point-and-shoot for that.
