These guys are one of the few shorebird species that around all year long down here in south TX. I have probably taken more shots of Willets than any other shorebird, and I think this is my favorite so far.

1DII with 500, HH, ISO 400, 1/2,000, f9. Cropped just a wee bit.

Thanks for looking. As always, comments are truly appreciated.

I can see why it is a favorite. This is an excellent flight shot showing all that wonderful detail of the Willet's wings. A bonus with the mouth open and tongue showing. A winner. :)

This is a spectacular shot, Bruce. The open mouth and even the look at the tongue put it over the top. No nits from me! :D

Great wing position and detail, Bruce. I'd sure be tickled with this one. The open bill and tongue really add to the appeal.

Fabulous shot. I love the wing patterns on Willets and this captures it better than any image I can remember seeing of them.

This is spectacular Bruce! Detail, sharpness, and the open bill with tongue just puts it over the top! I'm in awe that it is cropped a "wee bit", this must make a terrific print!

Congrats!

You blew it, Bruce! For the rest of us, that is. Guess I will have to delete my willet flight files. This is the best flight shot I have ever seen of this bird. Bravo!
