Tropical Kingbird
Kino Springs, AZ

I spent a couple days in SE AZ trying to capture some of the area's different species. I believe I am correctly ID'ing this as a Tropical vs Western and Cassins which were also present, the diagnostic being the notched tail. That, and a more experienced birder came along a few min later and id'd by voice one was in the area. I'm willing to listen to other opinions though!
Canon 20D, 500mm f/4, 2x, tripod, cloudy day and dead flash batteries  iso800 Cropped from a horizontal, it is full height of the horizontal so maybe 30-40% of the original image.

Beautiful, Cindy. Gorgeous colors -- really love that background, especially.

A wonderful shot with nice clean bg, Cindy!
Would like a little more dof to get the bill tip in focus ...

A fine image Cindy, agree with your ID. The larger, longer bill and greenish breast say Tropical.

Excellent shot Cindy--I've never seen one of these. Like the complimentary background. Looks like your trip was a success.

Cindy, this kills me. This is not an easy bird to shoot. This is so stunning, I love it. The best Tropical I have ever seen. I can't wait to see what else you got.

Probably the same TK I got down there but a much better shot than mine. Very well done. Congrats on a tough bird.

Wow! Congrats on a great shot of this one. This would have made up for everything that went wrong.
