The infamous 8 chicks and parent. The other parent was close by, but out of frame.

A wonderful family shot, Fab!
More dof and room at bottom would have made this even better ...

Sounds like a very unpleasant experience! Nice shot. I would try a slower shutter speed and smaller aperture for greater dof.

Glad that you were able to locate my little buddies!!!!!!!!! I discovered last year that it was better to use a shorter, zoom lens for the group shots for the increased DOF. Fire Ants!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Outstanding!! I had so much fun with this family last week. Wish I got something close to this good. Focusing is tough with these guys. Love the pair right by the adult.

You should've seen Fab leap up and take her pants off!  She did get in the car before she did that, tho! She didn't say that was her second ant hill of the day. Slow learner. 8)

......... yes Fab is a slow learner when it comes to ants !!! The second time she got nailed was brutal!!! not a pretty sight !!! hope the bites are getting better 8)

Sweet family shot, Fab. What you will go through for a great shot -- fire ants are the WORST. Hope you are better now.

Ants in the pants - Not Good!

Adorable little ducklings Fabs! I'm amazed at the size of their beak compared to other ducks, lika Mallard babies for instance! 8) :D

Sad news. I got a report that all the chicks may have been taken by Caracaras this morning. :( :( Anyone been there how can confirm this? I heard some photographers were there.
