I was surprised to find Grebes still nesting at a local lake this late in the year. Ran into fellow NSN member Larry Kaufman there and we enjoyed shooting these guys yesterday. I wish the stalk wasn't coming out of the adult's head but the squawking chick cracked me up.

I like the little guy on her back. It's too bad about the stalk.

Hi Alan,

This is wonderful. It was unexpected and very nice to meet you, and thanks so much for the location advice in the first place. I hope to see lots of great shots from the area as it will bring back good memories of a beautiful spot and what great fun it was to shoot the action there!

Alan,

Very nice shot. The open mouth on the chick raises this up a notch.

It was a lot of fun and Larry got a better shot of this instant than I did.
