La Jolla, California, 1-15-05, Mark II, 500 f4, Gitzo 1325, Wimberley, 1/8000th, f4, Av Mode, -1, iso 320. Normally I will not center an image, but this time it made sense to me. Terns in flight are such a thrill to work.

This is very nice, the light was very flattering and the exposure is perfect.

Steve,
Excellent, IMHO. Very unusual pose. Every time I look at this shot I have to laugh. The bird, at least to my eyes, looks like he is really upset at you.

Thanks for all your positive comments and recommendations. KK mentioned less shutter speed for more depth of field. I agree and have since defaulted to f 5.6 for flight on fast movers, and I also default to iso 200 rather than 320 in full light. Ofer said the crop was a bit tight and I DO tend to get carried away to make a frame filling picture. I am very happy and honored to get comments from all you folks whose imagery I so respect and love to view.

Thanks,

Great capture Steve, love the wing spread and those freaky coloured feet.

Well done
