THought this might be a different image of a Owl since I have not usually seen the Burrowing Owls with their mouth open.. Looks like he or she is startled...

Alan you failed to pick up on the JPEG compression artifacts aswell that are noticeable around the feathers/whiskers around the right eye :)

I like the look that he's giving you. The nits have been covered. Since this is a minor crop, it would be worth it to rework it in PS.

yes this is my fault on the image since it was already Jpged but too large so i just resized the jpg smaller ad it then added the artifact... Have to fix it again and redo...

Eric the bird's position is very good and the open mouth a big plus !!! You can post again as a reply and leave the original for comparison !!!

If you have some extra room would be nice particularly top and try taming the highlights around the head !!! Excellent image and worth working on !!!! 8) 8) 8)
