Willet with crab

Willet Catoptrophorus semipalmatus
La Jolla 8-6-05

This Willet was running around being chased and harassed by other Willets and a very young and aggressive Western Gull. I thought I may not get an image of this bird with its prize. Finally, the other birds gave up and it ran near me, stopping briefly to give me what I wanted. Thanks.

Mike- How on Earth do you you manually focus at the dicisive moment on a bird running around so fast? Great image. Nice Nature Story.
