Scissortail Flycatcher - Roma, Texas, USA
EOS 10D, 500mm, 1.4x, 1/250, f/6.3, ISO 200

I don't have a lot of bird photos with human elements in them but I think I can scrape up a few for the new motif :D This was taken on the dirt road to and from the ranch we were photographing Rio Grande Valley specialties in last spring. The Scissortail flycatchers would sit on the fences along the road and every once in a while we ran across a bird that didn't flee the second you slowed the car down. This is a hand held shot out of the car window using just the partially retracted window for some stability.

Lovely shot EJ. I like how the color in the bared wire is similar to the patch of red/rust in the bird.

Sweet! The only one that I had that the tail was sharp as on shiny new barbed wire. I much prefer the old rusted stuff! Very nice.

As soon as I saw it I knew it had to have come from the 10D - fantastic colors out of that camera. I like this way better than mine, this is fabulous.

And Ken, now we get to post a bird a day in this gallery, a bird every other day in Birds. This will be a great week!

Sweet! One of the nicest STFC images I've seen, even with the EHK.
