This is very different for me. I'm interested in your thoughts on this shot, good or bad. We're going back to where this was shot this weekend, weather permtting, so I'd like to have some good suggestions to try out please :)

If it were mine, I would shoot a less contrasty film. Some seem to like the contrast, but I am not among them. Some more saturation on the leaves, and different light, either earlier or later, but the dappling of shadow and light which is so wonderful to our eyes, to me is not as wonderful to film. I think there is enoough detail in the shadows to bring them up a little in PS and saturate some selected areas. Also, I would change the perspective to less foreground and more tree. Either by cropping or moving closer. But, this is only my personal preference.

You've got nice color in this Dave but I think there is so much similar texture and shape that the tree doesn't really stand out as the subject. I think Steve's suggestion about getting a little closer might help this. I do likr the dappled shadows on the ground but it would be nicer if they were landing on something a little different in texture than the tree leaves. Not too easy to do in the fall I know where the leaves "fall" to the ground.

I like the "dappled" look and how there seems to be a path, on fallen leaves, under the overhanging branches into an area we cannot see. Cool!
