Beautiful bird and fill looks well handled,Bob!
I'm presuming the bird was in full shade and the bright background light
has caused the funky looking softness to the perch branch?
Wondering if flash as main light might have worked better, allowing a better balance
with the background light? Since I have little experience with hummers and flash, this is a question not a nit!

Extremely difficult lighting situation, Bob. The subject looks a little bit dark on my monitor, but that might just be because of the bright background. A sweet looking bird!

Cool shot!
Nits covered..I am wondering if there was room to move your camera down, tilt your lens up to avoid the bright BG..?

Looks good to me. The OOF branch is a little weird. Looks like ghosting.

Nice composition but the busy and bright bg is hurting this image. Needs more USM on the bird also.

very nice Bob, a little curves might bring the bird out a bit more.

An awesome bird and great shot. Others suggestions will make this one even better.
