I have been noticing below some signatures there is a member number of 4 digits. Is that number assigned? How do you know the number that is assigned to you? Does the board or you place that number under your signature. Thanks. :?:

The membership number comes from becoming a paying member. The number you are seeing is the last four digits of the number sent to you to allow you to upload images. (Don't ever show or display the whole number to anyone!)

If you would like to display the membership number, you would do so by modifying your signature by clicking on profile at the top of each forum page.
My signature added [url =http://www.naturescapes.net/membership.htm]NSN 0012[/url] (I added a space before the = so that it would display what I did.)

I moved this topic to Photography Topics since it was site specific and was off topic for Digital Topics forum.

Tony,

Pasted the formula you sent me after my signature in my profile. Pressed update. I switched the 0012 to 0077. Instead of just printing the the number it printed the formula as posted by my signature. What did I do wrong? Thanks.

Remove the space before the equal sign. You also might want to hit return after your name and before the first [.

You don't need html code. In the signature block, just enter your name as you want it displayed, and in the next line, enter "NSN XXXX", without the quote marks and the 4 digit number replacing the X's.

Good point. It's not actually html code, it's BBCode and you don't really need it. I provided it as a learning experience on how to put a hidden link into the signature. I put the link in my signature to allow people to quickly find out about membership by clicking on my number. Over time, you will find that my signature is going to contain a number of links to informational pages or my own websites.
