I have not posted in a while because I've been spending my time locating falcon and eagle nests. Lots of sitting, waiting and watching. I've found several peregrine eyries along with several golden eagle nests, some I think (and hope) have awesome image possibilities. This is a distant shot of a peregrine nest I found in a huge cave. Rather than crop too much I left the cave in as a prelude to future images. I will be able to shoot this eyrie from about 100-150 feet away which I think will be good. And no rock climbing! They have very small young now as they are being brooded much of the time. This shot is from a food exchange. Canon 20D 600 with 1.4, 50% crop.

Nice. The falcons blend in well to the colors and paterns of the rocks.

I like it, but it would have been even better with a slight head turn in the right falcon. Also I would slide the right harrow in the levels to render the whites brighter and to add a few contrast.

I really appreciate the environmental images. Yeah...it would be great to see the birds closer but then I like the feel for the size of the cave in relation to the birds......impressive.
