Ruddy Turnstone Arenaria interpres

A Turnstone in its breeding plumage ...
The shot was taken last Saturday at Deep Bay in the north western part of Hong Kong.

The spring migration for shorebirds is well underway and probably will last for a couple more weeks from now.

Very nice KK--this does a fantastic job of showing off the wing colors. My attempts to get these guys in flight last weekend were futile.

Beautiful detail , bg, and pose KK, looks like it would work as a square or horizontal format as well to give the bird a little more room to the right. :D
Just havin' fun

This is awesome KK !!!!!!!!! Do you mean to say that this was taken right in Victoria island? Where is Deep Bay? I have been so curious about where you do your shooting, I lived in Hong Kong for one year, I was imagining that you shoot in Lantau or somewhere else. In any event, this is a gorgeous shot !!!!!!!!!! ------------ Ligia

Stunning KK! Do you use all points AF or a single sensor?

Well Done!

That is a stunning shot - what a cool looking bird. The head looks a hair soft to me as well but this is great otherwise.

You are "da man" when it comes to shorebird flight shots. I think this is the first flight shot of this species that I can recall......very beautiful patterning. Glad your spring migration is underway......hope you get many, many more!!
