Uncommonly pretty, that is. 10D, 500 f/4.5, at f/5, 1/500. If I had it to do again I'd want a little more DOF; critical focus seems to be on his tail or pectorals.

Nice documentary shot! The light is a bit harsh but it was handled well. These are pretty birds even if they are common. :)

Definitely a pretty bird with all that color in the head. Nicely composed too. I bet a little USM or selective sharpening could help some, although I agree with your own assessment about critical focus. If this were mine I'd also think about cloning out the blue bit in the lower left corner and making the background more uniform.
