I shot this red head drake enjoying a chuckle at a local lake here in Dallas earlier this winter. I do not get these ducks in my back yard so I enjoyed finding him and a few of his friends as they passed through on their way south. His red head does not look as good in this post on my monitor as with the original image for some reason. Perhaps he is a little too centered for some tastes.

A wonderful capture, Woody!
A slight head turn your way would have been even better ...

Great shot. Looks like he knew that he was going to be on display for motif week.

You have really nailed the exposure on this photo. Beautiful detail and as Herman said, an almost comical touch.

I agree that the slight head turn would have been ideal but we don't always get that choice, do we?

Nice.

Woody, the detail, sharpness and action in this image is awesome. I would place him lower in the frame.

Slight head turn would make this image great. Like the detail.

Beautiful Redhead! Can't always get the head turn when you want it but this is very nice even without it.

Sweet bird Woody. Not enough of them around here for my taste. An interesting open bill position.

Woody,
Your shot encourages me to try my TC20 on my 500f4 with D2h. I've never been willing to try my TC 20 out for fear of messing up a good opportunity. Now, I'm going to give it a whirl. Great image.
