Great Gray Owl L'ile Bizard, QC (Canada)
1DMKII, 100-400 @300mm ISO 400 1/640s@F6.3 Handheld, snow as fill.

What a thrill it has been shooting these birds over the last five or six weeks!
There has been as many as 26 GGO within a few square miles.

Brutal comments welcome!

EDIT: Good example of 1DMKII CF-17 (expand central sensor) for flight - Thanks Artie!

HI Chris, The image is beautiful and I wish that it were mine, however, the placement of the "horizon" line, which cuts the bird and nearly cuts the frame in two, is less than ideal.

Beautiful shot! I love the dead on look and the landing gear is down. Good timing! I think the background gives a great sense of space and habitat.
