Northern Hawk Owl swallowing a Vole

This owl was flying toward me and landed on top of the power pole to dine on a delectable, freshly caught Vole. While I wasn't too fond of the overcast sky as the BG or the bird's chosen perch you have to admit it made a great dining room table for devouring the Vole. This is a significant crop, about 50% on a linear basis.

D70, 600mm f/4, beanbag, ISO 400, 1/200 @ f/5.6
