A little soft in the head but a great bird in some nice light.

I am confused when I look at this image-- yes, I know, I am always confused, but it seems the back of the neck is tack sharp c/w the rest of the bird..... I like the light and the cool sand patterns.
4 down, 2 to go.

A bit soft ... was this from a hefty crop, Jim?
Love the low angle and nice light ...

Very nice! Great light and handsome subject. Looks like the nictitating membrane is covering a small portion of the eye.

Beautiful light and a great pose though I agree that this looks a smidge soft.

I really like the contrast between where the zig-zag of the bill meets the reflection and the horizontal lines on the beach.

Great shot Jim. Love the ripples. Looks like a bit of motion blur in the head.

The light is amazing, and even if it is just ever so slightly soft at spots, its a gorgeous image, far superior to any oystercatcher shots I have.
