Tai Po Kau, Dec-11-2004.

EOS 10D, EF500mm f/4 L IS USM, EF1.4x II, ISO800, f/8, manual, 500EX manual, BB, tripod, camera RAW, PS7, 48% of original, burn some bight spots in the background.

Seems not quite successful in making a portrait, worse I have failed to include most of its tail so I crop it out almost completely. Further suggestions to cropping are welcomed.

Thanks for viewing.

Griffin, a beautiful bird. Good job with the exposure on the blacks and whites. It's a bit tight in the frame all over for me. I'd remove the blue in the eye from the flash.

My wish looking at this photo is that you had gotten lower to put the green behind the bird rather than the black.

Griffin, I like the repost though I do miss the tail. Its unfortunate you missed it because this looks like a very beautiful little bird.

I too miss the tail, Griffin the Poor!
Without it, the image is not complete unless you go to a tight crop for head shot instead ...

The crop of the tail has left this looking a bit more truncated than if you would have cropped more aggressively behind its feet. Your flash setting and sharpness are great.
