This Ringbill stole a flounder from an RB Merganser during a wicked cold spell two years ago. By the time he got ready to eat it, it had frozen solid. His solution to the problem was to pick it up and drop it, time after time for several minutes. This gave me plenty of chances to catch the fish in midair.
Anyway, his strategy worked for some reason and he finally managed to wolf the thing down.

Canon 1D, 500 w/2xII, ISO 200, 1/1600 @ f/8, minus 2/3 comp.

That's hysterical. Gulls are good at finding workarounds.
4 down, 2 to go.
