No owl invasion in southern California but on a day trip to the Salton Sea we did find quite a few Burrowing Owls. Since this trip two days after Christmas it's rained almost non-stop here. I have other shots where the second Owl is almost in focus standing nearer the front of the cave but I prefer this shot with the OOF troglodyte in the rear. Guess we know how they got their name.

Don't see shots of them in the burrough very often. Nicely done, Steve. I, too, like your composition and seeing both birds.

I like the out of focus owl. I had to move away from my desk and the owl was still staring at me - it's eyes were watching me. - :) Nice!!

I too really like the second OOF bird in the back of the burrow. This is a fantastic shot, Steve!

Steve,

Excellent shot. It's nice to see the owl standing in front of the burrow.

Nice habitat shot Steve, the OOF bird adds an element. In these situations I also try a shot stoped down to attempt to bring both birds into focus... with limited success.

Great shot of these mighty mites, Steve. If the more distant owl were in focus, the image would not have as much impact as it does here. Excellent work.
