D2h 500 1.4x fill flash 1/80s f/5.6 Cropped about 20% off the bottom

I was lucky with the timing here. The Coot has just finished shaking the leaf but the water was still flying.

Nice catch, Rory, I like the pattern of spray coming out. The plumage on the body looks a lot lighter than I would expect.

The interesting thing about this is that from the direction of the splashes it looks like his head must have been raised up and shaking it before you took the picture. All the droplets seem to emminate from one point which is kinda cool. And its interesting that it isn't the point where the current action is. Neat shot and good detail.
