A simple self portrait done in the bathroom (only room without windows)with a digicam and my lighttable as the only lightsource.

What's to say: I'm 28, single, work as a special corporate advisor in the Norwegian Arctic, with the large fisheries as my field of expertise. When not in the office I play all kinds of instruments, compose, write poetry, paint, and yes, photograph, though the last years has been 80 hrs. a weeks in the office, and the rest at home sleeping. I freelance both as an economist and as a photographer, so in 6 months I will probably do only photography for a while, like a did 2 years ago.

When I need to travel I bring with me books on aviation, philosophy and global politics. I've always liked to read, so I plan on doing my Ph.D some day in economy or media, so I can fight global commerce, cultural imperialism and non sustainable ways of life as a scientist. This year I consumed 70% less than the average Norwegian.

Happy new year to all NSNers, and thanks for the inspiration you've all given! See ya' around in '05!

Thanks Svein for posting this and telling us a bit about yourself.
I have truly enjoyed your images over the past 2 years that I have known you, and "really enjoy" reading your comments when those questions/statements pop up in the forums on the subject of art.
Very thought provoking and at many times, ......... inspiring!
You have been wonderful here at NSN, and I really appreciate what you put into it.

So, I guess you're a pretty good dude, ...................... even if you got more hair than I do!!!

Take care of yourself buddy, and thanks for posting this and telling us a bit about yourself.

Happy '05 to ya all! Thanks for the kind words.

The portrait was taken to be included in my portfolio when I applied to a Photography School earlier this year, but the Interview and my look around the School made me decline the offer to join. Just felt that it was to much inside the box thinking going around there.

I've got a DVD player m8t - CDs and DVDs are better than those big VHS tapes for the environment anyway! BTW, the guitars are never far away ;)

Great improv on the portrait lighting. Kudos for your philosophy and best wishes for the New Year Svein. That working schedule sounds grueling.
