Don't have many pics of me out in the field (gigo has one but has not converted it yet :P ) .. so here's one that should fit the motif, here's a shot I did for fun a self portrait of me, the american gothic couple, and a parrot...with south beach in the background. (Hint: I'm not the parrot, but the character next to him)

But being a parrothead (hint: fan of Jimmy Buffet) and of birds (including parrots), and the beach, I think this is a fitting image of yours truly.
Image
FYI: I'm an attorney by trade, a musician w/o a band who took up photography again after a long absence. I started up again about 6 years ago after I noticed that some of my lighthouse prints were as good as the ones for sale at the art shows, so I decided to do it myself. I used to shoot primarily B&W, portraits, landscapes, and lighthouses and on film, until I discovered"Birds As Art", Alfred, and NSN....

I always shot birds on the sideline, but never got so serious about it until a year ago....now I'm even shooting digital.. :P My passion is the state of Florida, its wildlife and its scenery....Clyde Butcher is my idol and inspiration for my B&W landscape and Artie is my inspiration as far as taking avian photography seriously. It is an addicition and fun, and a nice way to relax and get away from the vultures of the legal profession. (Old Joke: the vultures who circle around the Dade County Courthouse are rumored to be the spirits of dead lawyers  )

I don't recall the details of this shot; I took the south beach image on Canon Elan7e w/28mm lens on Kodak 400UC; the self portrait was taken with Elan 7e and Tamron 28-200 lens and 550ex on Fuji Superia 400; the parrot -- similar rig except on Kodak Gold 200; and the American Gothic....public domain....all were layered in photoshop...

BTW, the TLR is an old Yashica-D which was my dad's which I inherited from him....entirely mechanical and takes great shots ....

The Dave Clark 5? I think they're playing lounges on the outskirts of Las Vegas....

A few years ago the Art Institute of Chicago (where the original resides) displayed hundreds of images using (and abusing) American Gothic. I didn't see this one!!! It belongs there!!! Clever portrait!
