Taken about 3 miles north of Flamingo about a month ago. He was up on a branch which hung out toward the road.

20D, 600IS, 1.4x, ISO 400, ev-2/3, no flash, bean bag on car roof, f5.6, 1/80. Gaussian blur to BG.

Oh Jim, this is sweet. The little sprouts on the trunk really add a lot.

Perfect composition, love the pose.

Can you (or someone else) explain how to blur a BG? I usually duplicate the layer, blur, and add a mask, but I usually get a little halo around my bird as I mask off the bird formt he blur.... and yours looks perfect!
