This was shot on an overcast day hence the hi key BG (flash failed to recycle in time or a small amount of color would have been preserved in the BG). This bird caught two rodents over a three hour period. Here it is about to land on a telephone pole. 40% crop from horizontal.

Ken, you're talking my language, here. Boy, this is great! Nice clean vertical line on a pure background. It doesn't get any better than this. Seldom are the kestrel's beautiful feather patterns seen this way.

Catching them coming and going is a great way to get unusual shots like this. I like this a lot, even the stark background.
