Nice portrait! I love how well the eyes are lighted in this. I'd be tempted to crop a bit off the right or even make a vertical comp of this.

I fixed the image so that it would display. You need to add image tags to your URL:

Welcome to NSN, Mike. Great eye contact with this guy. My only nit would to have a slightly lower shooting position, so you could be at or near eye level. I am dying to get to Botswana in 2005. Thanks for posting, and welcome!

In addition to what the others have said I like the fact his face isn't covered with flies. Very nice and welcome to NSN.

A little off the right side would improve this nice shot IMHO and a lower angle too, but a good close up with sharp detail of this fine looking male. 8) 8) 8) :)

My favorite subject! The light is beautiful and so the lion. I would have cropped it a little bit so it would be more of a head-shot. Very nice picture.

I'd add some slight curves as well.

Welcome to NSN and the Wildlife forum. Excellent shot that would be even stronger as a tighter vertical. I look forward to seeing more of your shots.

Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate the comments. As to the shooting position, we were in a Land Rover and couldn't get lower.
This was an incredible trip.
