Congratulations! This is the Image of the Week selection for the Landscapes Gallery, week ending 18th May, 2012!We have had some big storms over the last few days that i have been in Florida, Today in the late afternoon the skies darkened and there was some lightening so i put the 14-24 on the D800 and sat on the beach watching as the storm progressed, I had to handhold the camera as i havent managed to get a L bracket yet, Out of 100 images i managed 3 with lightening, This being the best

Yeow. The clouds alone are spectacular with that band of rain reaching to the water. I might step back on the sharpening and contrast a slight bit, but this is quite the dramatic display. Of course, the bolt is a magnificent bonus.

Zot! Great image -- love those clouds and the heavy rain band in the lower left. I hope you got to cover before this storm was overhead!

Great clouds and nice bolt. I kind of wish there wasa little more space for the foreground but this works. I like how the distortion effect of the wide angle lens makes the trees and grasses look like they are leaning with a heavy wind.

This is awesome! Love how the leading lines of the grasses and trees and the surf intersect. The clouds are so dramatic too and the blue and pewter colors are beautiful. Nice grab on that lightning bolt as well! I'd tone down the sharpening a little... looks like it added some noise and halos.

Otherwise great!

wooow! what a dramatic image!! i love that sky!

stepping back a bit on the sharpening should minimize the noise in the image. i can see two dust bunnies in the UR corner (emphasized by the strong sharpening).

Love it!
Yeah, sharpening is a little agressive...and a couple of dust bunnies are visible.
