I had the greatest experience today morning. We got up well beofre dawn and decided to head for the river and the swamp nearby and we were rewarded. As soon as we arrived at the river I saw a bull moose across the river I approached him carefully setting up my camera and tripod. To my surprise I found this nice family laying in the bushes. Obviously the bull had just performed his business (will post the proof of that later) and started wandering off, leaving the cow to rest. At first they were in the shadows but the sun was coming up and soon started bathing them with warm rays. I got a bunch of good shots and left without making my presence noticed. The rutting season has started. Good luck my friends!

Sweet family portrait. Might take a bit more USM. Great light and an incredible experience.

Excellent light and a nice family shot. I think it could be just a hair brighter.

Sven, this is a wonderful image. I only wish the two moose did not overlap.

Best,

Excellent family moos portrait! The lighting is great and I really like the calmness indicating they were totally at ease with your presence. I think I would try to brighten it just tad if it were mine, but then again I wish I had ANY useful moose image

Wonderful moose family shot in beautiful light! Where was this taken? I got to do some moose photography while here in Alaska and got some nice shots of some beautiful bulls. They are awesome animals.

Thank You everyone for the comments. This was taken in Estonia, where I live. In the regions I do pohotography I come accross a moose every once and a while but I have never seen the cow and bull together. Well, they were separated by 15-20 meters but still.
