As I'm hearing that Hurricane Isabel is headed toward Assateague Island among other places, I'm wondering how these guys will weather the storm.

Canon Elan 7e, 100-400 IS @ about 200 and f5.6, Provia 100 pushed to 200, handheld from kayak. I wish the foreground were more in focus and they were looking more toward me. Thanks for your comments and feedback!

Kelly,
Although the ponies are looking away the photo still works for me. The crispness of the image, the contrast between the grass and the sky and the ponies sets each segment of the picture apart. I like it.
Good luck ponies!

I agree with Joe, the fact the ponies are heading away doesn't bother me because they are heading in to the scene and you can see where they're going. As for the foreground- did you look at a panoramic crop? I'm not sure that much foreground adds to the image regardless of the sharpness. It's the ponies and bg that are the main points. Nice exposure and good color.

I like the low perspective and this picture just says late summer afternoon with the windblowing.. Cool shot, I hope they can make it thru the storm..

I like this one Kelly, especially the low perspective, although you probably wouldn't have wanted to stand up in a kayak  :D

The ponies are perfectly positioned in the frame IMO.

I hope they make it.

Good shot Kelly, perfect composition and I wish there were more equine images in this forum. They are as rare as hen's teeth. :)

Nice environment and the action of the horses leaving the frame works well for me.

Kelly,

I like the low perspective and I think Cindy's idea about the crop might work well. Although I do like the water in the foreground as it gives a better representation of their environment that these guys live in. I guess that means you can get 2 great compositions for the price of 1

Very nice shot. I really like the low perspective and the comp here. Looks like a carefree summer day-unlike the one they will be having today. Thanks for sharing.
