Blue-winged teal
Upper Souris NWR, North Dakota The most common puddle duck I saw on the northern prairie potholes. I've photographed this bird wintering in Florida and in migration, but it was very exciting to see so mnay of these in summer on the northern prairie. Having just returned from a family visit/vacation to North Dakota, I was amazed at the quantity of birds and species. This bird photographed from car as blind. Canon 10D, 500mm F4, 1,4 extender, Kinesis beanbag. Jeff Nadler
