These sandwich terns were having fun until a wave came crashing down to spoil their fun. Fortunately, in the bird world it takes only few seconds for productive mating. Taken at Fort DeSoto.

Great image. I like the overall lightness of the image, it really makes the dark heads and bills stand out. A nice motif contribution, even though not really shorebirds. 8)

Great caption. Overall I like the image. The apparent merging of the bottom bird with the wet sand is a little disorienting though.

the very low viewpoint renders this almost magical! I love it, and I find the terns blending into and out of the BG mesmerizing.

Reinier,

Very nice. The background colors complement the birds well.

I really like the light blue color this image gives ... Only wish is for the top bird's head to turn slightly towards the camera.
A nice capture indeed, Reinier!

Making a quick sandwich :D

Love everything about this image and wishing the top bird had turned his head this way a bit.
