I'm considering selling a lens and recall a post pointing to a resource for estimated resale values for various lenses, but I haven't been able to find it. I would appreciate if anyone could point me to it and apologize for not being able to search/Google/find it myself.

Regards,

I often have a look through the KEH web site when I'm trying to estimate the value of second hand gear. Their pricing probably can be considered the top end of what one could reasonably get for equipment in comparable condition to their ratings. They're going to have things built into their price that a private sale wouldn't (including the presumed lower risk to the purchaser of dealing with an established company), so don't necessarily expect to get the prices that they list. But it may give you some ideas.

You can also search eBay, and posts at forums like here at NSN or Fred Miranda that operate classifieds sections.

FredMiranda.com probably has one of the most active classified sections in terms of # of ads, so you can relatively quickly get a good idea of what an item sells for just by searching in that forum.

What Chris said :) KEH is retail with a built in dealer mark-up so it is probably 10-15% above what you could get for it.
