Excellent image and remarkably good background at Alligator Farm. I would have liked the bird moved to the left in the frame.

Hi Sandy. Thank you for your input. If I move the bird to the left, it would be centered. Isn't that a no no? Please elucidate. Thanks.

Very nice! Beautiful subject and properly exposed. As for composition NO-NO's are just guidelines, not gospel. Verticals frequently work just fine with centered compositions. The head down position and the resulting angle of the bill make this image one that would work very well with the subject more centered. Very nice as is also.

Great preener. I like the perch and soft, colorful bg. I too would crop this a bit on the left. Had the bird held its head up and looked to the left, then your crop would be fine to give it some room to look into. Since the bird is looking down and its bill is actually going down to the right, placing the birds eye in the left third of the frame instead of on the center line would give it better balance.
