I found a great spot for yellow warblers Sunday. I plane to go back and look for other angles and see if I can improve upon this one.

These little buggers are really hard to get out in the open! I love the idea of a lower angle here but I also think capturing him singing makes this pretty nice as is. :)

I sympathise with Laura, they are hard to shoot. You did very well and the singing is a bonus.

Peter, the yellow against the blue is awesome. The singing puts it over the top.

Yes! The colors really grab you. It looks a little soft to me expecially around the tail.

This is excellent Peter though I would prefer the blue sky to be less saturated. I agree about the angle but it's a great pose.

To get a warbler out in the open.....and stopped long enough to shoot is in itself an amazing feat. This one is nice although I agree with the saturation level. You definitely need to go back again!!!

Thanks for the comments! Almost always I end up saturating images scanned from Provia film, but in this case I added no saturation, and although it was a beautiful rich blue sky that day, a tiny bit of de-saturation wouldn't hurt. I'll go back for more, hoping the warbler keeps going back to the same tree to sing. It was his tree that evening, he went back perhaps 5 times to sing in the course of an hour.
