This image was taken in Botswana in December. I was down low on the bank and using Betsy (Sigma 300-800) to get in tight. These guys put on a show for quite some time...well past the best light, but as usual on this website...it had to be posted for the motif.

Nikon D100, Besty @ 800mm, F5.6, 1/750

Cheers,

Great for the Motif Jeff!! I think this guy is in need of some dental attention and appears a little soft on my monitor. I do like the close up on the subject and the reflection is a bonus in this shot. 8) :)

I had a girlfriend with teeth like that...

sorry, I'll stop that now. I like the shot as is and I'm trying (without much luck) to imagine what it might look like with all the reflection. The pink on green water looks good.

Very nice Jeff. I think a little more DOF to get the bottom "fangs" in focus would have been nice. Nice low angle though and great reflection.
Looks like it needs a little CCW rotation.

Great title, Jeff.

I suspect we have an incorrect focus here, as opposed to DOF issues. Can you confirm that you had a focus lock?
