I like it, but I most definitely like your other photo better. The angle to this guy could be a little closer, as he seems to be looking away.

Why do hippos feel the need to open their mouths so wide?

It's a very nice shot. The quality of the light is a little bland, but there's not much you could do about that at the time. Someone with better PS skills than mine could probably breathe a bit more life into this.

You have captured the shape, form and detail in the hide very well in this image and the eye is a bonus. Refreshing to see a different take on the normal front-open mouth shot! 8) :)
