I'm not a birder, and I don't have the skills to locate this guy on my own. But last Fall, I went with the McDonalds on a workshop in Yellowstone National Park, and they were able to guide our group to this beauty. The shadows were heavy enough that I couldn't get my shutter speed as low as I'd like, but I still think that amazing wing looks impressive, even if I couldn't freeze it.

Mike, the wingspread is fantastic. You did well given the low light. I might try some more sharpening.

Mike, What a magnificent wingspread!!! Sure looks sharp to me!! My one nit is a blue color cast. Perhaps my monitor is the culprit.

What a cool wing stretch! I'm surprised its as sharp as it is at 600mm plus the digital field-of-view factor at 1/20th sec. The shadow has given the bird a blue cast.

Great Greys are probably one of my favorite, if not my absolute favorite North American bird...I can't wait to go shoot them again next winter. Nice shot given the low light conditions (prevalent with shooting these guys)
