Marbled Godwit Limosa fedoa
Torrey Pines 2-8-04

I posted a similar shot from this afternoon in the surf back in February. I entered this image in a local Salon put on by the Southern California Association of Camera Clubs and won a medal for Best Animal Behavior in the nature division. I just got it back and thought I would share it with you. Brings back some wet and sandy memories. Cropped about 20%.

Congratulations on the honor!! This is a sweet shot. Great light and along with everything else the depth of bill penetration is just right, IMHO. 8)
