I have seen them feeding for weeks on random piles of discarded seed left by farmers. This included dried corn.

when they return to the Arctic in the spring we will use some regular mixed seed for a while until the snow melts enough to start to show the dried winter grass, they will then start to move out to thier nest sites along the rocky cliffs along the coast...they will husk the seeds quite well...during the summer they feed on seeds from the shore grasses along the coast and insects.

I have put out "Finch Seed Mix" on snowbanks along quiet back roads where I have seen Snow Buntings and they do feed on it.
