Nice job handling the sidelighting. Very nice shot. Love the wing position.

Nice job with tough light..... you did great to get the whole bird in reasonable focus.

Very good pose, sharp and you placed him back in the frame. Good work in exposing do you remember what mode was used and if any compensation was made?

Great wing postione here! A tad dark over all. A slight crop from top would be Ok too. At such close range your panning technique had to be perfect.

Well Done!

I like the wing position very much. A bit dark on my monitor, but a tremendous capture nevertheless; pretty close if you used a 300mm focal length.

Aforns: It was Av priority mode, center focus point only, no exposure compensation although I converted with C1 Rebel in it's not-so-linear "linear" mode in an attempt to tame the harsh lighting.

Lat: It was close, I was panning like mad to keep up with him. Just about spun myself into the ground! I was trying to get the down-wing position so was pretty happy it turned out. Their wing beats are slow enough that I find I can synchronize if I see them coming in time. My silhouette shot that few people liked was hte opposite, I synchronized for the up-wing position in that. In this case, I was a little disappointed that by the time the wings were in the "right" position he had started to move past me... there are just so many variables to get right it's a miracle I get any good shots!

They are a big bird when you see them up close with their wings fully deployed.
