taken near the Pelican Man Bird Sanctuary, Sarasota, Florida. 10D, 500f/4.5 1/1250 at f/5.6

comments and crits much appreciated. Do I still need more USM?!

There is plenty sharp here. In fact I'd have backed out just a little bit on the usm thing ... :wink:

It looks just right on the USM! The bird stands out so beautifully from the background. It has a 3D effect. Well shot :D

The USM is perfect here, the f/4.5 plus the wonderful light makes this image a very nice one!! The 3D effect is very cool!! Congrats!! 8)

Fiz,

The slight front-side lighting has provided amazing depth to the bird. Definitely 3-D in appearance. The BG is a little busy but the bird is sweet!

Your sharpness looks great here maybe your sharpness issues have to do with tracking and moving subjects.

I have had little luck with making this species look so good.
