#3 of Leaping leopard series taken November, 2001, Maasi Mara

EOS 3, 500 4.5,2 x, beanbag. When I realized that the leopard was about to leap across the tree I changed the drive to multiple shots. Kept the Shutter down until the film was finished. There were several frames between #1 and #2. There were no frames between #2 and #3. The EOS 3 wasnt fast enought o catch the cat in the middle. Mary Ann McDonald got one of the cat in between the limbs!

I have done the best I could to restore the face of the leopard shaded by the tree limb.

Comments and suggestions welcome!

Great action series- perfect for the motif.

How much farther did the leopard travel before having all 4 feet on someting?

Elanor, this is a fantastic series. I suspect this would be a great installment for the 'Photo Essays' forum?!?

Way to hold down the button! A great sequence rarely seen.

It's pretty cool to look down the page and see the cat jumping in reverse. :)
