Nice shot, James! I'm undecided about the dof on this one. I usually prefer a sharp sun, but this one makes me stop and ponder...anyway, it's a lovely image, expecially with the hint of peripheral glow on the blades of grass.
Shoot in RAW because memory is cheap, but memories are priceless.

Yes, I like the glow on the blades of grass. Like Mahesh, I'm a bit undecided about the major OOF BG but leaning towards liking....

Oh no, the sun is melting!!! Superb shot Jimmy!!

The OOF background lends a nice impressionistic and graphic quality to the shot. This is also helped by the wavy top edge of the sun. Simple but sweet at the same time.

I like this shot a lot. I would like to understand it a bit better. Can you provide exposure information?

Hey jimmy

i like this, very unsual. I think if you cropped a bit from the top it gets better .. the focus is simply on the sun and those grasses. The OOF sun holds my eye well, probably because its unusual.

Cheers

I like this. Good choice of FG and the OOF works for me. I only wish the saturation was better to get the sunset mood.

Jimmy,

You ought to know that you don't post anything in the Landscape forum where the background is out of focus. :)

Actually, I like what you've done here. The out of focus background works perfectly with the sharp foreground. Very nice work.

Jimmy, this is really cool. I like the effect of an out-of-focus sun with a sharp foreground. Very well seen.

E.J. the exposure was 1/3200 @ 5.6 and know that I look at the data I did compensate -2/3.
