Lesser Scaup
Town Lake, Austin, Texas
One more friendly duck from Austin last weekend. I worked at getting an image with the light right to be able to see the green color in the head. I was surprised to see what looks like a ring similar to a Ring-neck Duck when this guy raised his head!
A lower shooting angle was not possible- no access to water level anywhere on the bank that had the light "right".
Canon D30, 100-400, tripod. Full frame.

One happy looking duck. Great catch noticing the ring on its neck, I have never seen or noticed this before.

Very nice exposure and colors of the bird and water.
A slight rotation may be needed.
I like the extended neck.
Very nice shot!
